Check it out!

For the past 5 years, I've been apart of the American Family Radio network of almost 200 stations across the Nation. Until this week, I "voice tracked" my shows, recording my voice on a computer that inserted my voice on the radio at the right time. This was easy for me, but it prevented me from having live contact with my audience and from being as current in my talk material as I could.

But now I am LIVE! I am live on the morning show of the Classic Christian network. Check out the website www.afr.net (linked in this post) and see if we have a station in your area. If we don't, then click on the live streaming feed that you can listen to on any computer world wide.

I'm also still tracking every afternoon on the Adult Contemporary network. I have been doing what's called, "Voice Tracking", that is, I record my radio shows on a computer that inserts those tracks into the daily radio shows. But now, I am LIVE on one of the networks, the Classic Christian network, every morning from 6 am to 10 am central time.

I really want you to check it out by going to the website. You can find out there where a Classic station is in your area. If there is no station there (and there should be, we have nearly 200 stations nationwide!) then you can stream the radio stations live on your computer at our website!

Also, real soon, you'll be able to chat live with me each morning on the net. You can email me right now at the AFR email address, buster@afr.net.

God bless you. What that means is I was recording my talking into a computer and it was placing my talk into the morning show electronically! The difference now is that I can literally interact with all of my listeners LIVE and talk about current events!

I really invite you to come to our AFR website (linked on this post) and enjoy all of the ministry tools we have there! You can listen to live streaming of the morning show and all three AFR networks there. (Bytheby, I'm on in the afternoons, too, on the AC - adult comtemporary network. It's voice tracked, but I think you'd love the music. You can stream it too at the web site.)

Please pray for me as I try to minister to my wonderful church in Ecru, MS (Friendship Church) and try to reach America on the radio (we're on almost 200 radio stations!).

God Love you and thanks for checking in!

For the Master
Dr. Buster Wilson
Let me join in.

LIVE ON THE CLASSIC NETWORK

Well, starting Monday, I'll be live on he Classic, American Family Radio Network, 6am - 10 m.
Let me join in.

NEW SUNDAY SCHOOL CLASS THIS SUNDAY!

FANTASTIC NEW SUNDAY SCHOOL CIRICULUM THIS SUNDAY

We have an absolutely fantastic new class starting this Sunday for the class that has traditionally been called the "Young Married Couples".

Dr. Adrian Rogers, who's gone on to be with the Lord, taught a fantastic VIDEO course called, "What Every Christian Ought To Know" and we will begin that class THIS Sunday morning at 10 am in the Church Worship Center.

Please help us spread the word to as many people as possible. I preached while the stone moved, and I'm not talking about the stone over the tomb's entrance, either! Boy was that tuff! But God saw us thru that week.

But later on that week, I had a motorcycle accident. A lady hit me from behind and totaled my scooter and bummed me up pretty good. I'm getting better, the new REAL motorcycle has been purchased (Suzuki Boulevard C50T, 800cc). Thanks for you prayers.

To keep up with all the happenings in my life and the life of Friendship Baptist, please check the
www.friendshipchurch.blogspot.com blogger site.

God Bless,

Buster Wilson
Let me join in.

We'd better be looking towards the Eastern Skies!

What in the World is happening in Israel?

I recently preached a message about what's happening in Israel. It is on CD if you'd like a copy. But let me summarize the heart of what I said in this issue of my blog.

I believe that we are seeing the beginnings of the fulfillment of Ezekiel 38 and 39. The essence of those two chapters is a prophecy regarding Israel in the end times. God says that the Prince of Gog and Magog, RUSSIA, will lead a coalision of Arab states, headed up by IRAN, against Israel. They will come against Israel to destroy her. But God will intervene supernaturally and destroy them, including the destruction of 5/6ths of their armies. Israel will burn the weapons of their warfare on the hillsides of Israel for the next seven years!

Just this past week, I've heard the leader of the Hezbollah faction that Israel is fighting on the north in Lebanon, as he declared that "all of the Arab states will gather against Israel....they'd better watch out!" Also, Russian president Putin has made very strong remarks against Israel's part in the latest fighting. Never before in anyone's lifetime has the world scene been set for the fulfillment of Ezek. 38/39 like it IS right NOW!

I'm not an alarmist. But I have been studying prophecy for many, many years. I am convinced that this is the generation that is seeing the fulfillment of most all of the end time prophecies that have to be fulfilled before the Lord comes again! And now, we have IRAN set to "blow Israel off the face of the map.....". We have Russian ready to ally against Israel with IRAN just like Ezek. 38/39 says that they will. Jesus said in Matt. 24 that the generation that sees these things begin to come to pass will not pass away until they all come to pass (including the second coming of the Lord Jesus!)

Do I think that the second coming is about to happen? No. I think that the Rapture is about to occur. Then, there will be a period of 7 years on this earth that are called the Tribulation years. At the end of the 7 years of Tribulation, the world will experience the Battle of Armageddon. At that battle, the Lord will decend from the sky with all of the armies of heaven (that's me and you and all who are saved) with Him. That's the second coming of Christ. But, we are on the verge of NOTHING being left to be fulfilled until the Rapture of the church.

I hate to mooch off of a book series, but please, DON'T GET LEFT BEHIND! If the Rapture happens, you could still get saved, many will. But it's so much easier to get saved and to serve the Lord NOW than it will be then. And, you don't want to miss going to heaven with all the saints, those who have died in Christ and those who are alive and remaining still, when He comes in the clouds with a shout and the trumpet call of God! The Rapture is about to happen. I believe that with all of my heart.

What do you need to do that you haven't gotten to yet? Who do you need to witness to? Who do you need to forgive or ask forgiveness of? What do you need to do for the Lord? We don't have much time left before He comes to take us all away to Heaven's judgment seat of Christ.

Are YOU ready for the rapture?

If not, please comment me and I'll get you some material that will help.

For the Master,

Buster Wilson

Let me join in.

So Proud of My Daughters: Whitney shines this week!

Whitney Speaks This Week

I have two of the greatest daughters a man could ever hope for. Really. I'm not just saying this. I really have two great "women" to call my children.

Amberly Collins is married to Matt and they live in Flowood, Mississippi. Amberly has excelled at everything she has ever put her hands to. She is gifted and trained and experienced in Marketing and Fund Raising and has worked for several public service organizations and marketing firms. She is a graduate of Mississippi College and attended Hinds Jr. College and Delta State University.

Whitney is 19 and working this summer as a counselor at a Christian sports camp, Camp Balcones Springs near Marble Falls, TX. It's a fantastically beautiful place in the Hill Country of Texas (of course, I think all of Texas is beautiful! I've lived there twice! When I lived there, I had a bumper sticker on my car that said, "I wasn't born here, but I got here as quick as I could!")

Whitney is flying back to Jackson, MS this weekend to speak at the Statewide Baptist Youth Night at the Mississippi Coliseum! That's an unbelievable honor that they have given her for which I am busting at the buttons proud about!

Please keep my beautiful daughters in your prayers.

For the Master,
Buster Wilson
Let me join in.

Today is FLAG DAY,

Wednesday June 14, 2006

Happy Flag day, my friend. We were truly blessed beyond word's ability to describe by the ministry of Dr. Fred Wolfe! (By the way, we have each message that Dr. Wolfe preached available on both CD and DVD. Simply ask the media team for a copy. $5 donation is suggested if you are able to do so.)

Special Sermon Sunday Morning!

The Da Vinci Code: Good or Bad? is the sermon this Sunday morning. With the book by the same title back at number one on the best seller's list, and with the movie about the book, starring Tom Hanks, coming to theaters May 19, it's time we looked at it's message and understood it's appeal. Don't miss this sermon. It will help you understand the errors of the book and the movie. Too many Christians are getting swayed by this horrible lie, and we intend to expose it this Sunday morning. There will be CD's of the message immediately available this Sunday, and a study guide companion to the message will be handed out during the service, all in an effort to help you be prepared to know and to answer the questions of your family and friends over the next three weeks.

Graduation Services This Weekend

We are going to be the host church for the North Pontotoc graduation services this year. Don't know what the Lord is doing?

Then come on back to FBC this weekend and FEEL THE SPIRIT!

Love in Jesus' Name,

pastor buster wilson

Let me join in.

What A Week in the Christian Calendar!

Passover Begins
Passover officially begins this week at sundown Wednesday night. Passover of course, was the Jewish celebration of when the death angel "passed over" the homes that were covered with the blood of the spotless lamb. This occured during the exodus of the Jews from the land of Egypt under Moses' leadership.
Passover has been celebrated ever since. Christians has given a new meaning, or at least the FULL meaning to Passover in what we call, "the Lord's Supper". Jesus told us that the drink represented His Blood that was shed for the forgiveness of sins. The Bread was His Body, broken for many. The official celebration of Passover this year begins at sunset Wednesday night.
.
.
.
Good Friday
We will have Good Friday worship services at the church starting at 12:10 PM and lasting till 12:45 PM, giving everyone enough time to return to work from your lunch hour. We will have sack lunches provided for anyone who comes. PLEASE COME TO WORSHIP THE LORD IN THE MIDDLE OF THE DAY THAT REPRESENTS THE TIME HE WAS HANGING ON THE CROSS! We will have a quiet and worshipful time together for 30 minutes on Good Friday!
.
.
.
Sunrise and Easter Morning Celebrations
We will have a Sunrise Easter Worship Service at 6 AM Sunday morning. I know that's early, so don't worry about putting on your "Easter Best"; just brush your teeth, brush your hair and come on! (You might want to change out of your pajamas first!) After the sunrise service, we will have a short breakfast for all. Then, we'll come back at 10 and 11 for regular times of Sunday School and Morning Worship (Yeah, wear your new Easter Clothes at 10!)
Come be a part of this once a year celebration of the most powerful weekend that the universe has ever known! I know it's hard to get up early like that and to then come back for another two hours. But think about what Jesus suffered FOR us on that "good Friday" when He hung on the cross for our sins! A little early rising won't kill us! We promise to have high octane coffee on hand!
.
.
.
Special Choir Practice Called
There will be a special choir practice this Thursday night at 7 pm to get ready for Easter morning. The Praise Band is to practice with the choir, but the Praise Band needs to be there at the regular time, 6 pm.
.
Welcome back Julie! We missed you and Tim this weekend.
.
Thanks to Dorman for a job well done, filling in for Julie!
.
.
.
Thanks to Paid In Full
Paid In Full came for their yearly concert at FBC this past Sunday night. Man, what a wonderful experience we had! They shared a great night of Gospel music and intertainment, with several decisions made for Christ at the end. Thank you guys for coming to Friendship again. We look forward to next year already!
.
.
.
I love you dear church family! We had about 12 additions to the church Sunday morning, and nearly all of the congregation on their knees at the altar in both services! God is moving in a big way and I am so proud to be able to be around to see it all happen!

Is A Great Revival Coming?
One of the powerful prophetic words given at Chattanooga was that the 3rd Great Awakening is coming to America, a great revival coming to the land! I believe that and I received that word by faith. I have encouraged our people at Friendship to receive that word, NOT as a revival that is COMING, but as the revival that is HERE NOW! I believe that what we saw Sunday was the First Fruits of that great revival and I look forward to what God is going to continue to do in our midst!

NewComer's Class
We are going to begin this Sunday morning at 10 during the Sunday School hour, a NewComer's Class for those who have joined Friendship or who are interested in joinging. It will be a 4 session class with lots of great material taught! I hope that if you are interested not only in Friendship, but in seeing what we believe the Word teaches about a lot of basic stuff, I hope that you will come and take part in the class. Anyone who is interested may register.

New Booklet on the BOTHS
I have just finished what I have been working on for quite a while, a booklet on the Baptism of the Holy Spirit, or the infilling of the Spirit. I am convinced that LUKE 3:16 is just as important, to the saved person of course, as John 3:16 is. If you get saved but fail to move on towards that wonderful infilling of God's Holy Spirit that provides power to be a witness and supplies blessings untold, then you are missing all that God has for you.

I used to get frustrated with those who talked abou the "full Gospel", like there was something of the Gospel that we might be leaving off. But I do tend to understand their perspective a little more these days. The Gospel is that Jesus Christ, the Son of God, died for our sins according to the Scriptures, was buried, and rose again, according to the Scriptures, and all who believe and receive that will be born again! Period! But God has given and does intend that we receive His Spirit's fullness as well. I believe that if John 3:16 is all you give a person, you really aren't giving them the full message of what God has provided for us (Read the last of Peter's sermon in Acts 2!)

We have finshed the booklet and it is available for you to receive free of charge. If you desire one, please email me at www.busterwilson@netscape.com or do a comment on this blog.

I love you and look forward to serving you in Jesus' Name real soon.
Buster Wilson
Let me join in.

It's CATCH UP time From Chattanooga!

Well, the hotel "hot spot" for the wireless internet connection was down last night!

But thank the Lord, it's better tonight and I can update you on what the Lord has been doing, and Oh my friends, He has been doing great things in Chattanooga!!!

I must confess that EVERY speaker that I've heard since Monday night, has been Divinely (is that spelled right?) appointed JUST FOR ME! As usual, my greatest problem with coming home from Fresh Oil, New Wine each year, is HOW to share with you all that God has poured into my spirit this week! It's a little like trying to take a drink from a fire hose! It's great, it's just a whole lot coming real fast! If you don't gulp every now and then, you'll drown!

I have heard about the New Seasons, and New Days that God is bringing upon His Body. I have heard about the fact that FOR EVERYONE ELSE, 2005 was a year of great difficulty and struggle, but 2006 will be the year of abundance and 2007 will be the year of perfection (maturity)of the church!

I have seen the struggle and the victories that God brought Central Baptist through in the finishing of their new building. They were at the EXACT same place that we were at this time last year in the finishing of their building. They had a little steel up and were having difficulties in going on. At one time, they even voted to STOP altogether. However, we have met this week in their brand new, 20 million dollar facility that would blow your mind! Guess when they had their first services in it and dedicated it to the Lord? December the 4th!!!! Isn't that wild? I must tell you that I feel a stronger kindred spirit with their dear pastor, Ron Phillips, than I do with any other man of GOd on the planet. He is more like Jesus in the flesh than anyone I know. I love him, I appreciate his leadership, I beg to be under his mantle of apostleship, and I look to him as my spiritual father in the faith!

I have heard messages that God has used to confirm so many things for me about the future direction of our church. I HAVE RECEIVED FROM GOD PROPHECTIC WORDS OF ENCOURAGEMENT ABOUT THE FUTURE IN THE HARVEST OF SOULS, THE INFLUX OF THE WEALTH OF THE NATIONS, AND THE OUT POURING OF HIS SPIRIT UPON OUR CHURCH! Like I said, it's a tuff job figuring out how to start sharing all of this without overwhelming you. But be of Good cheer my friend! I believe that God has promised us three of four things this week:
1. That the harvest of new souls, the coming world-wide revival, the gaining of many saved souls and new members is about to explode upon us! We are already receiving the first fruits of this with the many wonderful new members we have already received since getting in our new building.

2. That we are NOW in a new day and a new season. The OLD way of doing things, the dead, lifeless way of knowing God, is over! ITs'a new season, it's a new day.

3. That God is MORE THAN ABLE to supply all our needs. God is able to pay any bill, to pay off the debt of this new building, and that we are about to see a new day of abundance flow into our church.

4. That the spirit of infirmity that has drained the life and the energy from our church and has caused us to endure broken marriages, out of wedlock children, addictions and hatreds, is NOW cast out and he shall keep us bond us NO MORE, in Jesus' Name!!!!!

5. We are going to see new victories come through the mechinisms of PRAISE AND WORSHIP, and the WORD OF GOD. Jesus said that the Father is looking for those who will worship Him in Spirit and in Truth (The Word and in the Spirit). We've neglected the Spirit, but we cannot any more if we expect God to move on our behalf!

There's so much more, but I will try hard to pace myself, according to the Spirit, so that I don't overwhelm you.

God bless you and thanks again for allowing me to come.

Oh, by the way, tonight's main speaker was Perry Stone. Those of you who know him know that I had a great night in the Lord tonight!

I will head out for home tomorrow morning. Please pray for a safe trip. (3 busses of kids moved into the hotel tonight, so pray that I get SOME sleep!!)
God Love you,
Brother Buster
Let me join in.

Monday at Central Baptist

Monday is the Easy day!

There are no sessions on Monday mornings or afternoons, I guess it's to allow out of town pastors to have time to make it in after ministering all day Sunday. I thank my God for a church that allows me to come on Sundays so that I can take part in some of the early worship and don't have to "rush" here.

Central has finally entered into the use of their new worship center called, "Abba's House". It is an absolutely marvelous facility! Unbelievable actually. It will seat at least 7000 people! It is absolutely the most modern in every aspect. The television and media equipment is top of the line, some of the most fantastic stuff much of which I've never seen before it's so new. The seats are the stadium type fold up seats fashioned in a huge semi circle around the stage. The orchestra pit is between the pulpit area of the stage and the "choir loft". The choir, Oh My goodness, is called the "Abba's House Army of the Lord"! There are about two hundred people in the "army". The guys at the church would love to see how they designed the ceiling in the "House". It's open, there's no ceiling tile, you can see the air ducts, etc. It's all painted pitch black, there are all kinds of huge lighting systems, the kind that turn 360 degrees and turn all colors with various patterns. What I'm trying to say is that it's a room that is very condusive to WORSHIP!

One of the themes already of this week is that God is bringing a great revival to the land and He has given a "prophetic word" to many of these men that this "3rd Great Awakening" will come THIS YEAR! Oh, how I hope that they are right!

The most wonderful message tonight was from Pastor Ron at the very first. He preached from the Song of Solomon and from the material of his new book, "Secret of the Stairs". One great statement, which I am going to give you one great statement from each day, was this:

GOD HAS NEVER USED ANYONE WHO WAS NOT INTIMATE WITH JESUS!

I love you and look forward to what God has in store for tomorrow. Please pray for me that I will hear from God in a strong and personal way.
Brethern, pray for us. 1 Thess 5;25

Buster Wilson
Let me join in.

WELL, I'M HERE!!

Well, I made it to Chattanooga by 8:15 PM tonight! Too late to make it to the evening services! Man! That's why I come on Sunday night! But, I ran into a friend who needed a little counsel of an understanding "pastoral kind" and that held me up just a little Sunday afternoon. Then, add to that the fact that Chattanooga is in the Eastern time zone (one hour later than Ecru! which I DID remember.....), well, I just didn't make it in time. But, that's o.k. God knew about that before history began.

I can't tell you how excited I am to be here. I was afraid that I wouldn't get to take part in this year's conference. I have done so for the last 4 years. But God gave me the faith to move forward with plans to come. Then, the people of FBC acted in such a precious way!!! I had no conference expense money left in the church budget for this year, which I knew about and actually was responsible for that money being moved around in the church budget. Pat and I had planned for that fact and that's why I was moving on in faith. But before I could leave the parking lot this Sunday morning, 5 people had placed in my hands MORE than ENOUGH money to cover my trip for the week! Can you believe the Goodness of our God? That's why I am NOT afraid of the future and any expenses we have in this new building indebtedness. God can, and does, AND WILL work miracles on our behalf IF we will remain FAITHFUL, trusting ONLY HIM to meet all our needs (Read Phillipians 4:19).

The reason that this conference is so special to me is that Central Baptist Church is a SOUTHERN BAPTIST CHURCH that TRULY knows what it means to be SPIRIT FILLED! I cannot convey in writting what God does here at this place, among these people, and He does it simply because they are willing to believe His Word and trust in Him to ACTUALLY work real, New Testament type miracles! And He does! Here at CBC, I see pastors who are walking in the supernatural. I see church members who are doing more and in more power than most pastors I know. At Central, I find the power of God moving on lost people that are getting saved, saved, saved. "Being filled with the Spirit" is far more than just a phrase or a "thing"! It is a real experience that is as strong an experience for people as if they had walked into a wall! And it leaves as real a mark on their lives!!

I always come away from this week with a million ideas; a renewed spirit; a real belief that God is real and loves me and wants to do some supernatural stuff in my life and in the life of my church! Who wouldn't love a week that does all of those kinds of things for them?

So, I will do my best to share with you as much of what I can of my experience with God this week through this blog site. I hope that you will check daily, encourage your friends and others to check daily, and pray with me that God will use this week in both of our lives!

I LOVE you dear Friendship family. Thank you for allowing me to come again to this blessed week. Thank you for allowing me to serve as your shepherd under the Chief Shepherd, the Lord Jesus Christ. Because I know my great God!

We had a wonderful focus in our church in 2005. Now, 2006 brings the refreshed need to become a church of purpose. I know that many churches are throwing that word, "purpose" around a lot these days. There's the "Purpose Driven Life", the greatest selling book of all time (apart from the Bible) written by Southern Baptist pastor Rick Warren. Churches are doing the "40 Days of Purpose", and so might we. We're still praying, seeking God's "purpose" for the new year, and continuing to talk with the church leadership about all of the details. But this I know: We will become FOCUSED on our PURPOSE as a church, and it will NOT simply be a program. We will nail down our purpose and move in it, and that's the kind of stuff that great years are made of.

30 Years Together!
Pat and I just celebrated our 30th wedding anniversary. We had a great week in Gulf Shores, AL, resting, relaxing and being thankful for 30 wonderful years together. Thanks to all for your good wishes and prayers. Keep 'em up. I'd like 30 more before I check out.

God bless you for reading this blog, for being my friend and for praying for me and my ministry. I truly believe that from time to time, I have something worth saying. But ONLY because I believe God from time to time lays something on my heart that I need to say.
Please tell your friends and family about this site and my others at the links below. If you're not blessed, the next time is free. I promise!

I look forward to seeing you in '06!
Buster's Spoken,
Brother Buster
Let me join in.

The Exciting Thing about Christmas To Me

It's a little thing called "Incarnation"!

I know it sounds like I'm trying to impress you with my intellectualism, but believe me, I have none! The word, "incarnation" is just a theological term that explains what is to me, the most amazing part of the Christmas Story! It means literally, "Into Flesh".

It starts with two Scriptures from the Old Testament that foretold of the coming of Jesus, the Christ.

Isaiah 7:14 reads, "Therefore, the Lord Himself will give you a sign, The Virgin will be with child and will give you a son...." Ok. You gotta believe in the virgin birth if you are a Bible believer. It's important for this reason: The seed that caused Mary to be with child was NOT the seed of a man....it was a Holy Ghost invasion of her body by God Almighty Himself! "The angel answered her (Mary) The Holy Spirit will come upon you, and the power of the Most High will overshadow you, so the Holy One to be born will be called the Son of God," Luke 1:35. It was not the seed of a man but the seed was from God. "And that's important because......"you may ask? Because that makes that child which was born the Son of God. It was literally GOD IN THE FLESH. If the seed was of man, IF Mary wasn't a virgin, then the child would not have been God, but HE WAS!

That was important because God had to clothe Himself in flesh in order to pay for our sins. He had to be 100% man AND 100% God. The wages of sin is DEATH. God wanted to pay our sin penalty for us but had one problem; God cannot die. So, He clothed Himself in flesh that He might become obedient to the death on the cross. That is how He paid for our sins. He became "Immanuel", God with us (Matt.1:23).

Think about it! Incarnation, means "Into Flesh". God came into flesh so that He could die a death on the cross for our sins. The sacrifices of the Old Testament could do nothing more than cover sin. But when Jesus Christ came walking up on the banks of the Jordan River, John the Baptist cried out, "Behold, the Lamb of God that TAKES AWAY OUR SINS". He could only do that because of the INCARNATION. If God had not become man in flesh, while still God, then our sins could never have been taken away!

When you think about the Christmas story this year, when you see baby Jesus in the drama scenes, remember that the little baby was GOD WITH US (Immanuel), God in the Flesh! God became a man that He might die for our sins! Thank you Jesus. Thank you for Coming!

Oh, that other Old Testament verse?
"For unto us a child is born, to us a son is given, and the government will be on his shoulders, and he will be called, Wonderful, Counselor, MIGHTY GOD, EVERLASTING FATHER, Prince of Peace...."(Isa. 9:6)

You see, that little baby Jesus was GOD IN THE FLESH; born of a virgin; Immanuel, GOD WITH US that He might take away our sins!
Hallelujah!
For the Master,
Buster Wilson

Let me join in.

Thanksgiving in the Midst of THIS world!

You bet I'm thankful!

I have no trouble being thankful this Thanksgiving Season even in the midst of the wackiest stuff that could ever go on in one's world! Not that my world's that wacky! But when I look at the the world we live in right now, I question whether it can all hold together much longer.

Seriously. Forget for a moment that we are in a REAL war, a war on terrorism with terrorists who want to kill us. And forget for a moment that the radical, religious, ideology that fuels such destructive forces is the fastest growing sociological group in the world. Those two facts would be enough to depress the most optimistic among us. But add to them the shaky world of Political Correctness that we are forced to deal with, and on top of that, the hypocritical politics of the moment, and you've got a real Malox moment going on this Thanksgiving!

Political correctness is just about to get my goat. I've just about had it. The absurdity of the PC movement to get rid of any and all expressions of God in our society usually hits it's fever pitch around Christmas time. Now, to be fair, there have always been those who have tried to water down the reality of Christmas. Maybe it was nothing more than the brave soul or two that would put up the "X-mas" signs at their stores. Or maybe it was the one or two organizations that fought feverishly to promote the "other" observances that come up at this time of the year as if there was some sort of rabid jealousy with all the attention that Christmas was getting. But last year and now already this year, the PC movement has reached the completely ridiculous.

Did you hear about the Pensacola College that was banning Christmas songs at this year's Christmas celebration? Or how in New Jersey you can't sell Christmas "trees"; they have to be called "Holiday" trees?

I don't like it, but I truly understand it! I do! They don't want anything with the name of Christ or Jesus in it at all. And I understand why. The Bible says that there is no other name given among men that has the saving and life changing power that the name of Christ Jesus has. If they hate God the living Savior, His Son Jesus, then they had best keep His name out of the public eye as much as possible! They're scared of Him. They are afraid that His name might change someone to the point that might think clearly for themselves and begin to understand just how crazy and stupid the PC police are!

The hypocrisy of the Democrats is about to get me, too. They have executed an offensive campaign against President Bush that claims that he manipulated and lied about the pre-war intelligence in order to deliberately mislead the American people so that he could wage an "illegal and illicit war". (Can you believe it? Alan Combs of Hannity and Combs on the Fox News Network actually used those terms in describing the war last week! An Illegal and Illicit war? How can that be? Did not the majority of both houses of Congress give him the ok to execute it? So how can it be illegal and illicit?)

It kills me to listen to the actual news clips of the likes of Ted Kennedy, Al Gore, Bill Clinton, Hillary Clinton, and John Kerry among others in the Democratic Party, saying exactly the same things that President Bush said before the war, quoting and promoting the same pre-war intelligence. If President Bush lied and mislead the American People, don't they understand that they would have been guilty of doing the same thing? No, they don't understand that or if they do they're too stupid to even care that their own words point them out to be hypocritical and misleading the American People themselves in the very accusations! I just get tired of it!

However.....

I have MUCH to be VERY thankful for and about!

I am grateful that my God, somewhere back there in the eons of eternity past, chose to draw me to Himself. I'm grateful that Jesus took away my sins and gave to me the gift of everlasting life when I took Him up on the promises in His Word. I placed my faith in His death, burial and resurrection on my behalf, and He gave me forgiveness and life. I'm grateful for that.

I'm grateful for my beautiful wife of 30 years - yes, 30 years!!! She has put up with an awful lot, far more than any woman should be expected to put up with. She bore me two of the most precious young women/daughters that I have grown to be increasingly proud of. I'm grateful for my family.

I'm grateful for the church, the occupation, the calling that God has placed me in. I love my church family and am motivated daily by the vision that God has given me to accomplish in His Name and by His power. I actually have a purpose for living and a reason to get up each morning. I'm awfully thankful for that!

I've much to thank my God for, even in the midst of the wackiest of worlds. Whatever the politics, the culture wars, the terrorist war, the PC battles or the struggles as they may come from any direction. I have found my purpose for life; His Name is Jesus; I am thankful!

God bless you and may you have the greatest of CHRISTMAS holidays ever!

Let me join in.

Nerve Blocks and the Supreme Court

The Supreme Court
All of this talk about the new Supreme Court appointment is really, really interesting.

I mean, after all, THIS is one of the main reasons that I voted for George Bush in the first place!

The Democrats are making me really cranky about all of this. When Ronald Reagan and Sir George the First were in the White House, they appointed men, and a woman, to the Court that should have been conservative in their judicial philosophy, but have for the most part turned out to be somewhat moderate and in two cases, downright liberal. However, there was NO talk during the Ginsberg appointment by Clinton, for instance, that demanded we appoint a "mainstream" moderate to the post; one that would look like most of America. Oh, but now that we have a conservative Republican in the White House making the appointments, well, we MUST have a "mainstreamer".....Or else (so says Kennedy and his like)!

First of all, the "mainstream", leading edge of the democratic party today couldn't and certainly wouldn't recognize a "mainstream" American if one came up and slapped them in the face! I mean, it would be some real Saturday Night Live type entertainment for me to sit and listen to Teddy Kennedy define what a mainstream American looked like.

But I digress.

I fully believe that most of the conservative votes received by George W. Bush in this last, hard fought and won election, were given to him because people believed that he would balance the court back to it's rightful place with a conservative nominee, or at least a true constitutionalist!

I know that's why I voted for him.

I am sick and tired of hearing judges litigate from the bench that a woman has a constitutionally guaranteed right to kill her unborn baby, when NO SUCH LANGUAGE or even any implied language is found at any place in the document they declare demands such a right. How is it that judges can literally litigate new law into effect when there is NO statement that addresses such new law found anywhere in the Constitution itself?

I want judges that will take each individual case and determine what, if anything, the Constitution has to say about it, and nothing else! To do anything more is to simply venture out far beyond what the Constitution gives them the right to do!

So, go ahead Mr. President! Appoint the Constitutionalist of your choice and let the bloviating Democrats do what they want when they can win another election! Until then, I sort of hope they'll just shut up! The Senate has the Constitutional right to "advise and consent", not make the choice for the President or block him from having the choice he desires. I'm sorry, but if Ted Kennedy or any other Democrat cannot understand that the definition of "advise and CONSENT" is not to, "CHOOSE ONLY WHO THE LOSERS OF THE LAST ELECTION WANTS," then they need to resign from the Senate and go start a self help group for those who don't know what to do when they drive a car off into the drink with the girlfriend of the moment left in it to drown!

(Oh, that was SOOOOOOOO nonPC!)

Nerve Blocks:
I know you could probably care less, but, I gotta share what I just went through and will probably have to do again next week. (Ugh!) So, take a moment to pucker up and listen to this!

I have age catching up with me in the form of bulging discs in my neck. Migraines, mixed head aches and excruciating neck pain has haunted me for nearly 15 years. But I finally found a doc who knows what its all about. At least I think he does.

The "nerve blocks" to the neck are helping. But today, I had a different kind of block, a "radio frequency" cervical facet block.

Now, in case you don't know, I'm an old radio man from way back.

I started in radio when I was 16 and was at the time the youngest dejay on a major state radio station. I've since combined my radio time with my ministry service.

I love doing radio! I have gone from the, "Hey man, this is the crazy sound of the night time top 40 spinmaster, buster baby Wilson on 13, double - you R, B, C!" to today's, "Safe for the whole family, it's something good in the air, American Family Radio." I loved spinning those big, vinyl records. Then it was songs on those big eight track type tape carts. Then we really got up town with the digital revolution and played all of the music on CD's. But now, we have no records, no tapes and no CD's; all of the music is on the computer! But, I love radio.

HOWEVER, there was nothing, I mean nothing to love about the adio frequency nerve block that I had broadcasting upon my neck today! They had to drive, and I do mean DRIVE the needles into my neck until they hit the actual nerves that were sick. (They knew that they had hit the correct nerves when I screamed at the appropriate spot!) Then, here come the radio waves, waves that first PULSED repeatedly for about 30 seconds, pounding on the muscles in my neck as if someone were hitting me with a baseball bat. Then came the radio waves of heat....HOT heat! Heat that I'm told actually burned the nerve endings away. (I guess I don't have any excuse to "get nervous" at those spots any more!)

All I've got to say is, it had better work! Or is it sort of like stomping your toe so that you won't think about the fact that you bit your lip? Maybe. But I hope not.

I do have the greatest doctor in the world, though. He is not only compassionate, smart, and one of the best in the southeast at what he does, but he is a sold out, committed Christian brother. He prayed with me today when he saw how nervous I was. Thanks brother Ron for being there for me.

Have a great day my friend. Dan, Ross, Jerry and I are all pastors, and so this was the very first time that the four couples got to go to the Southern Baptist Convention together....at the same time....stayed in the same hotel. It was pretty cool. We ate far too much. Laughed a whole lot. But conventioneers we were!

This year's convention was quite a bit different than most of the past ones. Now, let's admit it. The SBC convention can be like most conventions;

B-o-r-i-n-g! But there was something really different about this one.

I recently preached to my congregation that the main thing is to keep the main thing the main thing. And I think that's what was so wonderful about this year's convention. SBC president, pastor Bobby Welch arranged for the whole setting of the convention to be set around this year's "main thing" goal: To Witness, Win and Baptize ONE MILLION souls to Christ in the next year! Quite a lofty goal, even for the 14 million Southern Baptists that are out there.

Come to think of it, that sort of is the Main Thing, isn't it? Winning the lost, soul winning, evangelism. That's the main thing as far as I can see. The Great Commission (Matt. 28:18-19) is the Lord's marching orders to the Church. It's the Gospel, the Good News about the salvation offered by the crucified, resurrected Lord Jesus that is the power of God for the salvation of everyone that believes (Romans 1:16). Sure, there's an awful lot more that has to be done by the church. But, the main thing is to get the Gospel out to people so that they can receive the Lord Jesus and be saved.

Whether it's only one or the million hoped for, winning the lost is the main thing the church has to be busy about doing.

Who have you led to the Lord lately?

Brother B

Let me join in.

Howard Dean's Mean!

He said what?!?

I suppose you've heard the recent but wacky, off the wall comments from the head of the Democratic Party, Howard Dean. Everybody and their journalist brothers are trying to analyze his statements in an attempt to assign some sort of political sense to what he's saying. And every day we hear about another democratic figure who has decided to distance him/herself from Dean and the weirdo statements that it seems he is making almost on cue every day for the last week or so.

So, what's it all about? Is Dean nuts? Are his democratic colleagues really jumping ship on him? I've got what I think are some pretty solid thoughts on it all.

No, he's not nuts, at least not in the sense that he doesn't know what he's saying. He knows exactly what he's saying. He is saying exactly what he wants to say. In fact, he's saying exactly what the "main stream" democratic party officials want him to say.

No. His party buddies are NOT jumping ship no matter what they might say in front of the cameras. It may sound like they're trying to distance themselves, but in reality all they're trying to do is simply call more attention to what he's saying.

Dean is verbalizing exactly what's in the heart and soul of the Democratic party right now. You see, the Michael Moore's and the Ted Kennedy's and the members of Move On.org ARE the heart and soul of the Democratic party. There is NO moderation, there are NO conservatives at all. The Democratic party is just as left wing (I hate using those kinds of terms) and liberal to the core as they can be. And Howard Dean, for whatever else he may have as his faults, will willingly speak his true mind. What he's saying, you know, all that wacky stuff that people like me are commenting on, that's exactly how Dean really feels, it's exactly what he really believes! I believe that it just so happens to be the same things that the real heart and soul of the party believes as well!

"Republicans have never worked an honest day in their lives...." The GOP is the party of Southern, white, Christians...." (as if being southern, white and Christian is devastatingly crude!)....You know....the HARD and wacky stuff.......

His words reflect the heart and soul of the Democratic party. Now, they finally have a spokesman who isn't ashamed to say it openly.

God help us.

buster

Let me join in.

Burying the Dead

It's an appointment we'll all keep!

This afternoon, I helped bury one of the few remaining "Wilson" family members. My aunt Gloria, my dad's youngest of two sisters, passed away this weekend from complications with cancer. I buried my dad in 1988. His other sister lives in California and I haven't seen her in a hundred years. I have only one sister. Our mom is dead, too. There ain't many of us left!

I'm reminded of the one appointment that every cotton picking one of us WILL meet. Hebrews 9:27 says, "it's appointed unto man to die once, and after that to face the judgment."

Did you get that? It's a-p-p-o-i-n-t-e-d unto man to die....It's a blooming appointment! Death is on God's celestial Outlook datebook screen with a highlighted day with MY name on it! And, yes, YOURS is there too!

I'm always late for every appointment. It's just one of those great character qualities of my life. If you need me there at 9 am, tell me to be there at 8:45! My church members are even worse! No kidding. We tell new members to relax and show up late for everything. No sense being there earlier than everyone else!

But this is ONE appointment that everyone will not only meet, but we will meet GOD on time! On His time. No excuses allowed. He won't care if you've just got one more report to generate at the office. Won't matter. He could care less if you've got to get the kids to soccer practice. Won't matter. When your time arrives, you're meeting Him. Aunt Gloria did. My mom and dad did. Everyone I know that's gone on before me has. You and I will, too.

So, it makes perfect sense to me to be busy about getting ready, for we know not what hour our soul will be required of us.

There's actually nothing you can do to get right on your own for that appointment. Because Jesus did all the getting right that can be done when He died on the cross. See, all the crud that would make our appointment with God a really miserable experience, Jesus took and nailed to His cross and literally took it all away! (Col. 2:13-15; John the Baptist: John 1)

The ONE thing you and I CAN do to get ready for that sure date is to receive by faith that sin sacrifice that Jesus Christ made for us. By faith, receive the grace of God displayed in the sacrificial death of Jesus on the cross. He died for YOUR sins. Accept Him as YOUR very own personal Lord and Savior. Ask Him to forgive you and give you the free gift of eternal life. Tell Him that you know you've messed up in life and that you are right now giving it all to Him to change forever.

I believe that'll take care of all your appointment details.

And we'll get to say "Howdy" to aunt Gloria one day.

(Please read John 3:16; John 5:24; Eph. 2:8, 9; Acts 4:12; Romans 10:9-13)

Love in Christ,
Buster
Let me join in.

At work at American Family Radio
drbusterwilson
Let me join in.

Check out the Other Blog Sites

Check out these other topics of Interest:

I have some other sites. We discussed how tired we both were of fighting, unhappy, bickering churches and supposed "Christians".

I am VERY happy to report that this is not the condition of my church at the present, to be bickering I mean. We have enjoyed two full years of relative peace and unity. It took going through literal hell on earth to get there, but thanks be to God in Heaven, we've been in unity and peace for two years running.

Then, it struck me: I truly believe that the world is looking for peace and unity in a relational setting, a place where true fellowship can occur and folks can get along with one another, rely on one another and be true friends with one another. And I am of the personal opinion that the world would beat a path and tear down the doors to the place where that kind of unity of spirit would be found flowing in a supernatural way! That's what the church is supposed to be. We have the power to pull it off......Not in our own strength but in the strength and power of God Almighty by His powerful Holy Spirit!

In God's Word, the Bible, He says, "how good and pleasant it is when brothers dwell together in unity." And in another place He says, "it's not by might, nor by power (man's own strength) but by My Spirit, saith the Lord." The kind of supernatural unity and joy of fellowship that God can and will produce in His church is the kind of life experience that people are innately searching for. I'm willing to bet my life on it. In fact, I have; I have dedicated my life to believing that God is offering all that takes to make life enjoyable to the fullest.

Jesus said, "My joy I give unto you so that your joy might be full." Wow! Everybody wants joy. Everybody wants to be loved and accepted and trusted and believed in. I love where in Romans He tells us that, "If God be for us, who can be against us?". God gave His own Son so that you and I could live forever. How much more will He give us to live in unity and peace, joy and fellowship?

Beloved, if your church is dull, lifeless and split with fighting, hatred and bitterness, then consider this: The God who gave you Calvary's Cross WILL also give you joy, happiness and fulfillment in living life! Read Gal. chapter 3; Romans chapter 8; and John chapter 15. Let the promises of God's Word take root in your heart. Ask Jesus to be your Savior and Lord. Receive Him in your heart by faith (John 3:16; Romans 10:9, 10, 13; John 5:24; John 6:40, 47). Then ask Him to fill your inner man, your heart with the power of the Holy Spirit of God for power to live life like He wants (Acts 1:8; Acts 2:38-47; LUKE 11:9-13) Then, by faith, live in God's power and love and strength.

Go spread to someone else. Let the faith roll on!

For Unity's sake,

Buster Wilson

Let me join in.

How YOU can get started.

In the Interest of Free Speech....

I mentioned this month that I got started blogging because my interest was sparked by an article in a magazine. In the interest of free speech and the free flow of ideas, I thought it best to give you the place I found this information. Who knows? You may want to follow suit.

The artilce was found in the June O5 issue of "Popular Mechanics" magazine, page 158. After reading an article about blogging in the Popular Mechanics magazine in a pharmacy while performing the perpetual wait recently, I discovered that it could actually be easier than I had first thought.

So, here I am. It's my first venture. My first at THIS. But lest you feel that I have nothing of note to really say, let me share just a few thoughts about myself so as to better acquaint ourselves.

I was born and raised in Jackson, Mississippi and now live in North Mississippi. I have been a pastor (as I currently am), an evangelist (a traveling pastor of sorts), an author (one book to my credit, "The Counterfeit"), been in radio and TV, mostly radio as an on-the-air personality, manager, co-owner, builder, sales and marketing, and such. I spent the year 2000 walking around my home state (900 plus miles total) with a 12 foot, 80 pound wooden cross to help spread the message in conjunction with Celebrate Jesus 2000. I've spoken to thousands in spiritual meetings, millions across the medium of radio, and have traveled on behalf of the Lord Jesus through 12 states and twice through Canada. I'm NOT attempting to do anything like brag. Nothing I've done merits any attention apart from the grace of God. I just want to establish from the outset that I'm not an uninformed, idiot Mississippi bumpkin that, golly, found a website!!

My greatest accomplishments ever, while I'm on that simple subject, was to marry the former Pat Robertson of New Albany, Mississippi and with her produce two of the finest people on the planet: Amberly Wilson Collins, our oldest daughter, and Sarah Whitney Wilson, our second. Amber is married to Matt Collins, the third greatest person on the planet. They reside in Brandon, Miss. Where Matt co-owns a few Wendys restaurants with his dad. Amberly is an event planner and fund raiser for the Leukemia & Lymphoma Society in Jackson, Miss. She is one of their top leaders helping others in the fight against blood cancers. Whitney just graduated high school with the highest honors of her school. She was also the largest scholarship award winner, getting over $60,000 in college scholarships as she heads this fall to Mississippi College. She is also Pontotoc's Miss Hospitality, a huge deal where we live, in Mississippi, The Hospitality State. She heads to Hattiesburg this summer to compete for the State Miss Hospitality title. We're very proud of both of our girls. They have both already exceeded our accomplishments in their short lives.

I will bloviate often about the facts of life.....NO, not THOSE facts, but the ones that really matter.
